Make a Difference Through Great Food

Are you a passionate chef who enjoys leading a team and creating exceptional dining experiences? We're looking for a Chef Supervisor to help deliver a high-quality catering service at our welcoming Extra Care scheme in Stokesley.

This is more than a kitchen role. You'll play an important part in creating enjoyable mealtimes that support the wellbeing, independence and quality of life of our customers. Working alongside the Chef Manager, you'll lead by example, inspire your team and ensure every meal is prepared and served to the highest standards.

With sociable working hours between 8am and 5pm, this is a fantastic opportunity to combine your culinary skills with a rewarding role that makes a real difference every day.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Supporting and motivating the catering team to deliver outstanding food and service
  • Leading food preparation, cooking and meal service to consistently high standards
  • Ensuring the kitchen operates safely, efficiently and in line with food hygiene regulations
  • Managing stock, supporting audits and helping deliver a cost-effective service
  • Assisting with staff rotas and ensuring appropriate staffing levels are maintained
  • Coaching and developing team members to help them thrive in their roles
  • Stepping up to lead the service in the Chef Manager's absence

What We're Looking For

You'll be a hands-on team player with a genuine passion for food and customer service. You'll enjoy supporting others, taking ownership and creating a positive kitchen environment.

Essential

  • Experience working in a professional catering or kitchen environment
  • Previous experience supervising or leading a team
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Good understanding of food safety, hygiene and kitchen operations
  • NVQ Level 3 in Professional Cookery (or equivalent experience)
  • Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (or equivalent experience)

  • Experience of stock control and ordering
  • Knowledge of dietary requirements, including allergens, gluten-free, lactose intolerance and IDDSI standards
