Are you an experienced catering professional looking for your next leadership challenge? This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering high-quality catering services while leading and developing a dedicated team.
In this varied and rewarding role, you'll combine hands-on catering expertise with people leadership, helping to shape food offerings, drive service excellence and create positive experiences for customers every day. You'll lead by example, supporting the day-to-day operation of a busy catering service while ensuring high standards are consistently achieved.
As a valued member of the team, you'll have the opportunity to develop and support colleagues, influence service delivery and contribute to the continued success of our catering operation. Working closely with the Catering Operations Team Leader, you'll also have the opportunity to take on additional responsibility by deputising when required and helping to ensure the smooth and effective running of the service.

What you will bring:
- Experience in catering, food preparation and service delivery.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Experience managing rotas and allocating staff resources.
- The ability to motivate, develop and support teams.
- A commitment to delivering outstanding customer service.
- Confidence in stepping up to lead operations in the absence of senior management.
- Able to meet the requirements of an Essential Car User.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.

Local Government Reorganisation
The Government has confirmed that local government across Lancashire will be reorganised, with the current 15 councils being replaced by four new unitary councils covering North, South, East and West Lancashire from April 2028.
If you are successful in your application, you will initially join Lancashire County Council. However, as part of the planned transition, your employment will transfer to one of the new unitary councils from April 2028, subject to the implementation of the reorganisation and relevant employment legislation.
