We are currently looking for a passionate and dedicated Chef/Cook to join our team and play a vital role in enhancing the daily lives of our residents through nutritious, delicious, and home-cooked meals.

About The Role
As Chef/Cook, you will be responsible for delivering a varied and nutritious dining experience that meets the individual preferences and dietary needs of our residents. You will lead the kitchen team and ensure the highest standards of food quality, safety, and hygiene are maintained.

Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and cook a variety of appealing and nutritious meals tailored to residents' preferences, requests, and dietary requirements.
- Follow Marton Care Homes' Good Food Guide and implement approved menu changes where required.
- Supervise, support, and positively develop members of the kitchen team.
- Conduct kitchen team appraisals and assist with recruitment when vacancies arise.
- Ensure full compliance with HACCP, Health & Safety, COSHH, and Environmental Health regulations.
- Maintain cleaning schedules and ensure the kitchen is consistently clean, organised, and safe.
- Manage food ordering, stock control, deliveries, and stock rotation to maintain quality and minimise waste.
- Monitor kitchen equipment, reporting faults or maintenance issues promptly.
- Contribute to team meetings and support the induction and ongoing development of catering colleagues.
- Build positive relationships with residents and families, gathering feedback and adapting menus where appropriate to improve dining experiences.
What We're Looking For
We're seeking someone who is:

- Warm, friendly, and approachable.
- Organised, reliable, and able to manage a busy kitchen environment.
- A strong team player with leadership qualities.
- Knowledgeable about food hygiene and kitchen safety standards.
- Flexible and willing to work occasional evenings and weekends.
- Experienced within a professional kitchen environment.
- Previous experience within a care home or healthcare setting would be advantageous but is not essential.
