Role Description
The Chemical Engineer will work full time on-site at Gennate’s Manchester facility, contributing to the development and optimization of nanomaterial production processes. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

The role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure process safety, efficiency, and quality standards are met. The Chemical Engineer will document procedures, prepare technical reports, and assist in troubleshooting process issues. This position also includes participation in continuous improvement initiatives and support for regulatory and sustainability goals.
Qualifications
- At least one year industrial experience in a related field.
- Graduate/Master’s degree in Chemistry, Nanochemistry, Pharmaceutical Science, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of chemical calculations (molarity, dilutions, ionic strength).
- Knowledge of analytical techniques such as UV/Vis spectroscopy, FTIR, Dynamic Light Scattering, and various particle characterisation techniques.
- Computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint; data analysis).
- Understanding of laboratory health & safety procedures, with commitment to following best practices.
- Excellent attention to details, organisational skills, and record-keeping ability.
- Motivation to learn new techniques, adapt to a dynamic startup environment, and progress professionally.
- Willingness to work hands-on in a laboratory setting.
- Eligibility to work in the UK without sponsorship.
