Field Gas Engineer – Gas Measurement

Up to £32,000 plus benefits

I’m recruiting for a global leader who are specialist in gas measurement, supporting customers across the energy and power industries.

This is an opportunity to develop specialist skills, work alongside experienced technical colleagues and visit a variety of customer sites. The business helps customers ensure their gas measurement systems are accurate, reliable and compliant, with quality and technical expertise central to its work.

We’re looking for practical aptitude, a strong foundation in maths and science, and enthusiasm to learn. An understanding of gas chromatographs or experience with chromatography would be an advantage, although full technical training is provided.

What will you do?

  • Evaluate the performance of gas chromatographs, which analyse the composition of gas mixtures.
  • Test, calibrate and validate gas quality instrumentation at customer sites.
  • Collect and analyse data, producing accurate technical reports.
  • Prepare and verify reference gas mixtures used in testing.
  • Work closely with customers and colleagues to deliver a reliable service.
  • Develop your expertise through full technical training.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
