£12.71 per hour, increasing to £13.05 after 12 weeks | Temporary to Permanent | Monday-Thursday 7:00am-3:30pm, Friday 7:00am-1:00pm

Kinetic Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Chemical Process Operative / Counterbalance FLT Driver on behalf of a well-established chemical manufacturer based in Wythenshawe. The company has nearly 100 years of industry experience and specialises in the manufacture of plastic and adhesive products.

Previous experience within a chemical, process or manufacturing environment AND a valid Counterbalance FLT licence are essential for this role. This is a chemical manufacturing position, not a warehouse-only role. The successful candidate will work within the production environment, supporting manufacturing processes while safely handling raw materials and finished products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Working within a chemical manufacturing environment and following strict Health & Safety procedures.
  • Supporting day-to-day production activities.
  • Operating a Counterbalance FLT to safely move raw materials and finished goods.
  • Loading and unloading vehicles using the FLT.
  • Moving materials around the site and into the appropriate production/storage areas.
  • Carrying out manual handling and heavy lifting as required.
  • Following production procedures and instructions.
  • Handling materials safely and in accordance with company procedures.
  • Maintaining good housekeeping standards across the production area.
  • Reporting any safety, quality or production issues to the appropriate supervisor.
  • Working as part of a team to meet production requirements.

Essential Requirements

  • Valid Counterbalance FLT licence - essential.
  • Previous experience working within a chemical, process or manufacturing environment - essential.
  • Experience operating a Counterbalance FLT within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Good understanding of Health & Safety procedures.
  • Comfortable working around raw materials and within an industrial/chemical production environment.
  • Physically capable of carrying out manual handling and heavy lifting duties.
  • Able to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Reliable attendance and a consistent approach to work.

Important Information

Candidates must hold a valid Counterbalance FLT licence and have previous experience within a chemical, process or relevant manufacturing environment. This role involves working within a chemical manufacturing environment, manual handling, heavy lifting and operating a Counterbalance FLT. Candidates should therefore be comfortable working in an industrial production setting and following strict Health & Safety procedures.
