Operations Technician – Chemical Process Manufacturing

PE Global is recruiting an Operations Technician on behalf of a leading global pharmaceutical manufacturer based in Speke, Liverpool.

Location: Speke, Liverpool

Contract: Initial 6-month contract (with potential to become permanent)

Hours: Full-time, shift work

Pay: £17 per hour, rising to £18 per hour once trained.

This role is ideal for candidates with experience in chemical processing, process manufacturing, production plant operations, or industrial manufacturing. We are particularly interested in applicants from chemical, pharmaceutical, food, FMCG, petrochemical, coatings, or other regulated manufacturing environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate, monitor, and control manufacturing plant and process equipment in line with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Carry out production activities safely and efficiently while meeting quality and production targets.
  • Perform routine in-process checks, sampling, and accurately complete Batch Production Records and manufacturing documentation.
  • Identify and troubleshoot routine equipment or process issues, escalating where necessary.
  • Work in compliance with cGMP, Health & Safety, and Environmental procedures.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, quality, and operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • Previous experience within a manufacturing, chemical processing, or production environment.
  • Experience operating process equipment or manufacturing plant.
  • Strong commitment to safety, quality, and following established procedures.
  • Good attention to detail with effective problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English.

Desirable Skills

  • Basic understanding of cGMP principles.
  • Experience using manufacturing systems such as SAP or other process control software.
  • Forklift Truck (FLT) licence.
