Chemistry Expert for AI Training Modules

AfterQuery is seeking Chemistry Experts to create and refine chemistry reasoning challenges for our AI training modules. In this remote, flexible role, you will design and evaluate problems spanning organic, inorganic, physical, and analytical chemistry that test an AI model’s ability to reason through reactions, mechanisms, spectra, and laboratory scenarios with scientific rigor.

Responsibilities

  • Develop high-quality chemistry problems, mechanism walkthroughs, and lab-scenario case studies that challenge AI models
  • Evaluate and validate model responses, offering detailed feedback on scientific accuracy and reasoning
  • Collaborate with a team of scientists and technical experts to fine-tune problem difficulty and topical coverage

Required Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (MS or PhD) in Chemistry or a closely related field, or equivalent industry experience
  • Strong command of at least two subfields (organic, inorganic, physical, analytical, or biochemistry)
  • Exceptional analytical, written, and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bench or industrial laboratory experience
  • Publications, teaching, or peer-review experience
  • Familiarity with AI or computational chemistry tools is a plus
