About the Role
We are looking for a highly organised and detail-oriented Cheque Processing Clerk to join our newly established team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys accurate, process-driven work and is looking to develop a career within financial services operations.
Full training will be provided, making this an ideal role for candidates with strong administrative, data entry, customer service, or banking experience.
Location
- Standard work location: Milton Keynes
- Initial training period: May require attendance at a client site for up to 6 weeks
- Accommodation and travel expenses: Fully covered during the training period
What You'll Be Doing
As a Cheque Processing Clerk, you will play a key role in ensuring the accurate processing of financial transactions and maintaining the smooth flow of funds.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Processing high volumes of cheques accurately and efficiently
- Entering and validating financial information within internal systems
- Reconciling processed transactions and investigating discrepancies
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation
- Supporting daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliation activities
- Ensuring compliance with financial regulations, policies, and procedures
- Collaborating with colleagues and stakeholders to resolve queries
- Contributing to the smooth running of critical financial operations

What We're Looking For
Essential Skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organisational and time-management skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
- Good data entry and administration skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Desirable
- Previous banking, financial services, or transaction-processing experience
- Experience working in a regulated environment
- Reconciliation or financial administration experience
Training & Travel Requirements
This role requires flexibility during the onboarding period:
- Ability to attend on-site training at a client location for up to 6 weeks
- Ability to work away from home Monday to Friday during the training period
