Chess Coach, Lead and Assistants

Flexible Hours | School Term Time | Rochester, Tonbridge, Maidstone and Bromley, SE London

About our company

LearnChess Academy helps primary and secondary school students develop valuable life skills through chess.

The role

Do you enjoy helping young people build confidence through learning? Can you turn your knowledge of chess into energising, memorable, creative and enjoyable coaching sessions? LearnChess Academy is growing, and we are looking for Chess Coaches to deliver engaging sessions across Kent.

You will do much more than teach students how to play chess. You encourage independent thinking, creative problem-solving and resilience while making every session enjoyable and rewarding.

This is primarily a location-based role within schools and other coaching venues. A full UK driving licence is essential. Our online coaching platform provides a variety of useful teaching resources and supports online coaching opportunities, but these do not replace the need to travel.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
