Chief Brand Officer
Location: London, New York, or Hong Kong
Client: Global Financial Services Company
Our client is a leading global financial institution recognized for its stability, innovation, and trusted reputation across international markets. As the organization continues to expand, they are seeking an exceptional Chief Brand Officer (CBO) to define, protect, and elevate the company’s global brand.
This executive will serve as the enterprise-wide steward of brand identity, reputation, and narrative. The CBO will lead global brand strategy, integrated marketing, digital brand presence, and executive visibility — ensuring the brand reflects trust, integrity, innovation, and leadership across all markets. The role oversees a high-performing global team of 20 brand marketing professionals and partners closely with the CEO, CFO, Chief Communications Officer, Chief Marketing Officer, Investor Relations, and Corporate Affairs.
Key Responsibilities
Enterprise Brand Leadership
- Define and lead the global brand strategy, ensuring alignment with corporate priorities, financial objectives, and regulatory expectations.
- Shape the brand’s long-term vision, positioning, and architecture across all business lines and regions.
- Serve as the senior executive responsible for brand trust, reputation, and global market perception.
Brand Identity, Messaging & Governance
- Oversee the company’s brand identity, messaging frameworks, tone of voice, and visual systems.
- Establish and enforce global brand governance to ensure consistency across retail banking, wealth management, institutional services, and digital platforms.
- Partner with Communications, Marketing, Investor Relations, and Product to ensure unified enterprise storytelling.

Integrated Brand & Reputation Campaigns
- Lead the development and execution of global brand campaigns that reinforce trust, credibility, and differentiation in the financial sector.
- Support major corporate initiatives including digital transformation, ESG commitments, regulatory milestones, and strategic transactions.
- Ensure all brand communications meet regulatory standards and reflect the company’s commitment to transparency and responsible finance.
Digital Brand Leadership
- Oversee digital brand strategy including content, social media, digital reputation management, SEO/SEM, and executive digital presence.
- Use analytics and performance data to strengthen brand trust and optimize digital engagement.
- Champion innovation in digital brand storytelling while maintaining compliance with financial marketing regulations.
Executive Visibility & Thought Leadership
- Partner with the CEO, CFO, and senior leadership to elevate their visibility across global financial media, industry forums, and regulatory environments.
- Shape executive narratives around market leadership, financial stability, innovation, and global economic impact.
- Ensure the company’s voice is present in key conversations shaping the future of finance.
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, mentor, and inspire a global team of 20 brand marketing professionals.
- Build a culture of creativity, accountability, and operational excellence.
- Develop talent pipelines and elevate brand capabilities across regions.

Strategic Partnerships & Market Influence
- Build and manage strategic partnerships with financial media, industry associations, fintech collaborators, and global influencers.
- Work closely with Corporate Affairs and Regulatory teams to manage reputation and ensure alignment with compliance standards.
- Strengthen the company’s presence in global financial hubs and emerging markets.
Analytics, Insights & Budget Oversight
- Monitor brand performance using data-driven insights and global market intelligence.
- Optimize brand investments to maximize ROI and support enterprise growth.
- Manage the brand budget with discipline, transparency, and strategic prioritization.
Qualifications
- 15+ years of progressive brand leadership experience, including senior executive or VP-level responsibility within financial services, fintech, or other regulated industries.
- Proven experience overseeing global brand strategy and leading teams of 20+ individuals across multiple markets.
- Deep expertise in brand management, financial consumer behavior, digital brand leadership, and integrated campaigns.
- Strong understanding of regulatory considerations in financial marketing and communications.
- Exceptional executive presence, leadership, and cross-functional influence.
- Strategic, analytical, and creative thinker with impeccable judgment and discretion.
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced, global, highly regulated environment.
