Cardiology at Northampton General Hospital

Cardiology at Northampton General Hospital has seen exponential growth over the last 5 years. We are therefore looking for an intuitive 7 Echo Physiologist to join our young and dynamic team. The position is also offered with a recruitment and retention bonus in line with the UHN.

There are exciting opportunities here for the right candidate and we would love to hear from those who have their BSE accreditation and are looking for the next step in their career.

About Us

We are a forward thinking and friendly department which rewards our staff for their work. We offer flexible working, investment in training and equipment as well as exposure to advanced imaging.

We have all the facilities of a tertiary-equivalent Centre, including a modern digital echo lab performing the full range of complex scans including DSE and TOE, regular paediatric clinics.

We are proud to also be part of Satellite clinics for the community Diagnostic Hubs so there will be an expectation to rotate round these clinics.

We are very proud of our Physiologist-led stress echo and contrast / bubble service. We also see large numbers of Paediatric and ACHD patients.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
