Mcbride Sport is proud to be retained by Gloucestershire County Cricket Club to find its first-ever Chief Commercial Officer — one of the most significant executive appointments in the Club's recent history. Over the past two years, Gloucestershire Cricket has undergone substantial executive and governance change, delivering a trading turnaround of more than £1 million and building a significantly stronger platform for long-term success. But financial sustainability will only be achieved through sustained commercial growth and that's where this role comes in.
This newly created position has been designed to deliver a material step change in commercial performance, in support of the Club's wider ambition to become a "Top 8 Club." The Club is looking for candidates who are up for a challenge and are genuine change agents. This is far more than a traditional Head of Commercial role. I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
