Robinhood is looking for a Chief Compliance Officer to lead our Risk & Compliance team in the United Kingdom. We are looking for an experienced compliance leader who is excited to work at the intersection of regulation, technology and finance, and who can handle ambiguity and shifting priorities with flexibility and patience. As Chief Compliance Officer of RHUK, you will hold SMF16 (Compliance Oversight). You will lead the UK compliance programme, provide independent challenge as the second line of defence, and serve as a primary contact for the FCA and other authorities.
This role is based in our London, UK office, with in-person attendance expected 5 days per week.

What you’ll do
- Oversee and maintain the firm's compliance framework in accordance with FCA rules and applicable legislation.
- Monitor regulatory developments and assess their impact on the business.
- Develop and deliver the annual Compliance Monitoring Plan and ensure timely remediation of identified issues.
- Provide practical regulatory advice to senior management on investments and crypto products and business initiatives and associated regulatory obligations.
- Act as a primary contact for the FCA and other relevant regulatory bodies
- Own Consumer Duty oversight
- Oversee financial crime and AML frameworks with the MLRO
- Identify and assess risks with the 1st line of defence
- Review financial promotions, website content and marketing communications to ensure compliance with FCA requirements.
- Chair Risk & Compliance Committee
- Provide training, guidance and independent investigation of compliance matters to support and lead UK Risk & Compliance team members
- Set and promote the firm’s core values, risk culture and risk appetite at Board level

What you bring
- Based in the United Kingdom
- Degree or equivalent practical experience
- 10+ years of previous regulatory compliance experience within a relevant FCA-regulated firm
- Approval as, or the ability to obtain approval for, the FCA Senior Management Function SMF16
- Strong working knowledge of the FCA Handbook, Consumer Duty, UK Money Laundering Regulations and SM&CR.
- Experience managing FCA Supervisory and Authorisations interactions and regulatory reporting
- Strong analytical, organisational and communication skills
- A pragmatic and risk-based approach to compliance.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
- Experience working in an international team environment, across large projects with multiple work streams and coordinating cross-functional teams
- Knowledge and demonstrable use of AI
