Job Description

Overview

AtkinsRéalis is delivering some of the most ambitious and complex nuclear programmes in the UK and internationally. As part of our continued growth within the Nuclear EMEA Major Projects business, we are seeking a Chief Engineer (Multi-Discipline) to provide technical leadership across a portfolio of major projects that are helping shape the future of the nuclear industry.

This is a pivotal leadership opportunity for an experienced engineering professional who brings the expertise, credibility, and collaborative leadership skills to guide multidisciplinary teams, support strategic project decisions, and act as a champion for engineering excellence across major nuclear programmes.

Working alongside Project Directors, Engineering Managers, and our clients, you will help define the technical direction of complex projects, enable integrated engineering solutions, and support multidisciplinary teams throughout the project lifecycle to deliver safe, effective, and high-quality outcomes.

Your role

  • Provide technical leadership across major nuclear projects and programmes, supporting successful delivery from concept through to implementation.
  • Bring together civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, process, and control systems engineering disciplines to develop integrated, coherent, and effective engineering solutions.
  • Act as a trusted technical authority, promoting technical quality, safety, and regulatory compliance across project activities.
  • Partner with clients and project leadership teams to address complex technical challenges, support the management of engineering risk, and enable informed decision-making.
  • Foster a culture of engineering excellence, innovation, continuous improvement, and knowledge sharing across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Build and nurture trusted relationships with clients, regulators, partners, and senior stakeholders while representing AtkinsRéalis as a respected technical leader within the industry.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
