Chief Engineer - Battery Systems
Our client, a leader in energy storage systems, is currently looking to hire a Chief Engineer - Battery Systems to join their team. The successful candidate will develop module and pack battery systems engineering and run high level programmes integrating battery packs into customer sites.
The Chief Engineer - Battery Systems will:
- Provide overall technical leadership and engineering strategy across the battery programme, from cell through module, pack and deployment.
- Provide high level programme management of Battery Systems development at module and pack level and lead integration projects with customers.
- Set and maintain engineering standards, processes and governance across the organisation.
- Oversee BMS/EMS integration, testing and validation strategy.
- Own technical risk management, engineering roadmap and cross-programme delivery planning.
- Act as senior technical point of contact for customers and key stakeholders.
- Identify new technologies and potential IP, support patent applications.

The Director - Battery Systems will have:
- STEM degree in engineering, science, or a related field.
- Proven track record in a senior engineering leadership role (Chief Engineer, Head of Engineering, Engineering Director or equivalent).
- Wide breadth of experience within battery pack design and development.
- Strong background in battery module and pack integration, ideally with direct delivery experience.
- Track record of delivering prototype or low-volume hardware programmes to tight deadlines.
- Excellent technical programme/project management skills across multi-disciplinary engineering programmes.
