Chief Executive Officer
Our client, a well-established and highly respected UK mutual financial institution, is seeking to appoint an exceptional Chief Executive Officer to lead the organisation through its next phase of strategic development and sustainable growth.
With a long-standing heritage, strong balance sheet, and established position within the specialist mortgage and savings markets, the organisation is well placed for the future. This appointment represents an exciting opportunity to build on these foundations, strengthen its market position, and shape its long-term strategic direction.
We are seeking an accomplished financial services leader with broad senior leadership experience gained within a regulated lending environment, ideally a bank or building society. Candidates may currently be operating as a CEO, Managing Director, Executive Committee member, or in another sufficiently broad leadership role that demonstrates readiness for CEO responsibility. Previous building society experience would be advantageous but is not essential; more important will be breadth of leadership, an understanding of regulated lending, and alignment with the organisation’s purpose and values.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
