Founding Chief Executive Officer
London | Competitive CEO Salary + Equity + Bonus + Growth Capital
About the Job
Have you ever wanted to build your own social-first agency?
Thames Street Capital is looking for a founding-CEO to build their own social-first agency. We are a consumer commerce venture capital firm and our portfolio includes eVenturing (a 5-year old, London based company of 60 people managing over £500m annual revenue).
Starting a business from scratch is hard. We lower the barrier to entry by putting you on a healthy CEO salary to remove the worry, providing the growth capital to turbo charge your success and build your team and, very uniquely, giving you access to an established client ecosystem. In return, you own the strategy, the P&L, and the outcome.
What you'll own
- Agency strategy: setting the direction for a new social-first agency and owning full P&L responsibility.
- Client relationships: building on Thames Street Capital's existing ecosystem of commerce brands, with warm introductions from portfolio companies.
- New business: driving founder-led sales to win and grow client accounts.
- The operating model: designing how the agency delivers work, from team structure and capacity to deal flow and offerings.
- Pricing and delivery standards: setting commercial terms and the quality bar the agency operates to.
- Team building: hiring and building the agency's team from the ground up.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Ideal candidate / What you'll bring
- A 0-1 operator: Was employee #1-10 at an early-stage startup, OR an early hire building a new function from scratch. Comfortable building something from nothing, with no existing playbook to follow.
- Proven sales outcomes: held a quota-carrying or new-business sales role and has a genuine belief in founder-led sales.
- Commercial acumen: owned a P&L, budget or account portfolio with financial accountability.
- Direct experience or comfort setting up an agency specialising in creator management, paid amplification and programmatic. Experience working at a marketing, creative or media agency.
- Entrepreneurial drive: Hungry for ownership and the upside of running your own business, without betting personal capital to get there. Bonus if you've ever founded your own thing, freelanced or done some independent consulting.
- Familiarity with FMCG: Has worked on FMCG client accounts (Amazon/e-commerce experience is a plus, not required).
- Marketing & Advertising industry experience: 6+ years working at a marketing, creative or media agency.
