The Opportunity

Sense Ability Matters (SAM) is a well-established North East charity that empowers people with sensory impairment, disability and long-term health conditions to live independently, improve wellbeing and have their voices heard.

SAM is looking for a visible, values-led and commercially minded Chief Executive Officer to lead the charity into its next stage of growth.

Building on a good local reputation and sustainable financial foundations, this is a rare opportunity to shape the future of a respected, community-led organisation serving people across North East England.

SAM exists to empower people with sensory impairment, disability or long-term health conditions, helping them access the tools, confidence, support and voice they need to live independently and make positive decisions. Its vision is for the region to have a disabled and sensory loss community that is informed, empowered and resilient.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
