Chief Executive Officer

OutLET is a Lanarkshire-based charity and social enterprise using nature to support emotional wellbeing, confidence and resilience. We deliver therapeutic forest school projects, community play and wellbeing programmes, and training for practitioners up to Forest School Leader level.

We've built a strong reputation for doing things differently, developed innovative programmes and training, built trusted relationships with partners and funders and, perhaps most importantly, assembled an experienced, committed and stable team who genuinely care about what they do.

Our CEO will provide strategic and organisational leadership for OutLET, working closely with the Board of Trustees and Senior Leadership Team.

The CEO will be responsible for developing and driving OutLET's strategic direction, ensuring organisational sustainability and creating the conditions for our team to thrive.

A key part of the role will be looking beyond what OutLET currently does and asking: What's next? We have strong foundations. We want someone who can help us build on them.

You might identify new partnerships, develop new income streams, explore new areas of work, strengthen our existing offer, expand our reach or identify opportunities we haven't considered yet. We want someone who can combine strategic ambition with practical action.

Key Responsibilities

Governance and Board Engagement

  • Report to the Board of Trustees on organisational performance, progress and strategic priorities.
  • Work collaboratively with the Board to define OutLET's strategic direction, setting clear organisational objectives and ensuring their effective implementation.
  • Ensure compliance with OSCR requirements and maintain high standards of governance.
  • Prepare reports, annual returns and documentation for the Board and regulatory bodies.
  • Support the Board's legal and financial responsibilities with appropriate strategic guidance.
  • Provide effective organisational risk management and ensure significant risks are identified and addressed.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
