Location: Head office Preston – with an option for hybrid working
Salary: £80K per annum
Contract: Permanent, full-time

About Us

We are a values-driven social care charity committed to improving the lives of people who rely on high-quality, person-centred support. Our work spans Supported living, social enterprises and forensic services for people with a learning disability and sensory loss promoting dignity, independence, and social justice. Our current Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is retiring and as we enter our next phase of challenges and opportunities, we are seeking an exceptional CEO to lead the organisation with clarity, ambition, and compassion.

The Role

The CEO will provide strategic leadership, ensure operational excellence, and act as the primary ambassador for the charity. Reporting to the Board of Trustees, you will drive organisational performance, maintain and strengthen financial sustainability, and champion the rights and voices of the people we support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic leadership — Lead the development and delivery of the charity’s long-term strategy, ensuring alignment with mission, vision, values, and regulatory requirements.
  • Operational oversight — Ensure high-quality, safe, and compliant services across all provision.
  • Financial stewardship — Oversee budgets, risk management, and long-term financial planning.
  • External relations — Represent the charity with funders, commissioners, regulators, and partners.
  • People leadership — Inspire, develop, and support a skilled workforce and leadership team.
  • Governance collaboration — Work closely with the Board of Trustees to ensure effective governance and organisational accountability.

About You

We are looking for a leader who brings:

  • Proven senior leadership experience in social care, health, or a related field
  • Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and safeguarding
  • A track record of strategic planning, organisational development, and financial management
  • Excellent communication and partnership-building skills
  • A values-led approach, with a deep commitment to inclusion, rights, and person-centred practice
