About the Role
At Wheatley Care, we believe people can live independent, healthy, and fulfilling lives when they receive the right support, at the right time, and in the way that matters most to them. As one of Scotland's leading providers of care and support services, we are committed to empowering the people we support to achieve exactly that.
This is a pivotal moment in our journey. Following our transition from Wheatley Group to become an independent charity in April 2026, Wheatley Care is entering an exciting new phase. Building on strong foundations and a proud legacy, we are shaping an ambitious future that will strengthen our impact, expand our reach, and position us as an innovative and influential organisation helping to shape the future of social care in Scotland.
We are now seeking an exceptional Chief Executive to lead Wheatley Care through this next chapter. This is a rare opportunity to shape the future of a respected and purpose-driven organisation, strengthening our influence across the sector, driving innovation, and ensuring we continue to deliver outstanding outcomes for the people and communities we serve.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
