Chief Executive Officer – Great Western Air Ambulance Charity

Location: Bristol & South Gloucestershire
Salary: £95,000 per annum
Job Ref: MC2791
Closing Date: Midnight, Friday 11 September 2026

For over 18 years, our client, Great Western Air Ambulance Charity (GWAAC), has earned a reputation for clinical excellence, innovation, and compassion. Every day, their highly skilled clinical teams bring hospital-level expertise to patients at the scene of medical emergencies, often in circumstances where minutes make the difference between life and death.

They are now seeking to appoint a Chief Executive Officer to lead the organisation into its next strategic chapter. You will inherit an ambitious Charity, with a dedicated team and a powerful sense of purpose. You will inspire, bring people together around a shared vision, and ensure GWAAC continues to deliver the highest standards of patient care, operational effectiveness and organisational performance.

Your Key Responsibilities

As Chief Executive, you will lead, coach and support the Charity with a clear sense of strategic insight, commercial acumen and compassion. You will act as a high-profile ambassador for GWAAC with oversight of all fundraising activities, building and nurturing relationships with major donors, corporate partners, trusts, foundations and key stakeholders. You will provide operational, clinical and aviation safety oversight and work closely with the Chair and Board of Trustees to maintain high standards of charity governance.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
