About Homes for Scotland
Homes for Scotland (HFS) provides a strong and unified voice for our members, demonstrating the benefits that home building across all tenures delivers for our country. With a wide-ranging membership spanning smaller developers and Registered Social Landlords (RSLs) to larger home building companies and PLCs, we represent the breadth and depth of the whole sector. This includes associated companies which provide a crucial function in the wider housing delivery process, such as mortgage brokers, lawyers, architects, planning consultants and suppliers.
Delivering the vast majority of all new homes that are built, this rich and varied membership enables us to make an unequivocal case for an increase in housing supply, speaking with the authority and expertise that befits our common purpose: to enable our members to deliver new high-quality, affordable, energy efficient homes that meet the housing needs and aspirations of all those who live, or wish to live, in Scotland.
About the role
Following the imminent departure of our Chief Executive, we are seeking a dynamic individual with energy and enthusiasm to lead our small and impactful team and work closely with our Chair and Board. Play your part to help us address the long-term vision for housing delivery and the transition to net zero whilst ensuring we have the homes of all tenures that Scotland requires.
You’ll experience a supportive environment with enthusiastic and experienced people. You will drive forward our strategy and build strong, positive relationships with all those involved in housing delivery across Scotland. You must be passionate about the delivery of more homes of all tenures and be knowledgeable about how the Scottish operating context can have an impact on that delivery.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
