BiomeQ - Chief Experience Officer (CXO) – United States

BiomeQ is building governed biological comparison infrastructure. Organisations across life sciences, manufacturing, healthcare and national security generate increasing volumes of biological and process data, but those outputs remain difficult to compare consistently across different systems, sites and time.

Role Description

We are seeking a Chief Experience Officer (CXO) – United States to work directly with BiomeQ's founders as a senior strategic adviser. This is not a conventional operating executive or quota-carrying sales role.

We are looking for someone who has spent a substantial part of their career inside the organisations BiomeQ ultimately needs to serve and understands how emerging technology moves from an interesting idea to a funded programme, institutional adoption and long-term deployment.

The CXO will help us pressure-test markets, identify genuine problem and budget owners, sharpen propositions and create selective senior introductions where there is strong strategic alignment. Above all, we want someone prepared to tell us where the market is real — and where it isn't.

We are interested in candidates with deep experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Biomanufacturing and industrial biotechnology

  • Biologics manufacturing

  • CDMO / CMO environments

  • Fermentation and precision fermentation

  • Industrial biotechnology

  • Synthetic biology

  • Process development

  • MSAT

  • Technology transfer

  • Scale-up and manufacturing science

  • Pharmaceutical manufacturing

  • Healthcare and life sciences

  • US health systems and academic medical centres

  • Translational medicine

  • Real-world evidence

  • Precision medicine

  • Specialty medicine

  • Pharmaceutical R&D

  • Biomarker and cohort research

  • Clinical development

  • Healthcare data infrastructure

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Additional experience in climate technology, environmental biotechnology, food technology, advanced manufacturing, space biotechnology or other regulated biological industries would also be highly relevant.

We do not expect one person to be an expert in every market. Depth, judgement, credibility and the ability to navigate senior decision-making matter more than ticking every sector box.

Qualifications

You are likely to bring:

  • 15+ years of relevant senior industry or public-sector experience.
  • Credibility with executive, scientific, technical and operational stakeholders.
  • A strong professional network built through genuine operating experience.
  • Understanding of how large organisations evaluate, fund and adopt emerging technology.
  • Experience navigating complex or regulated markets.
  • The judgement to recognise when a technically compelling opportunity lacks a viable commercial owner.
  • The confidence to challenge founders constructively.
  • An ability to translate deep technology into language that senior decision-makers understand.
  • High standards of integrity, discretion and professional judgement.
  • An interest in helping build an ambitious UK-founded biological-infrastructure company with international reach.
  • Previous board, advisory, public-company, institutional-investor or capital-markets experience would be particularly valuable as BiomeQ develops.

Responsibilities

Working directly with the C-execs, you will help BiomeQ:

  • Pressure-test commercial and market-entry assumptions.
  • Distinguish genuine operational demand from interesting but unfunded use cases.
  • Identify the problem owner, technical owner, data owner and budget owner within target organisations.
  • Identify high-value US pilot and strategic-partnership opportunities.
  • Make selective introductions to relevant senior decision-makers.
  • Help identify applications where BiomeQ's comparison and provenance infrastructure solves an economically meaningful problem.
  • Advise on biomanufacturing challenges including run-to-run comparability, scale-up, technology transfer, process drift and provenance.
  • Advise on US health-system, pharmaceutical, biotechnology and Defence buying environments.
  • Challenge healthcare propositions where existing markets are crowded or commercial ownership is unclear.
  • Review selected partnership and customer opportunities before significant founder resources are committed.
  • Help determine what evidence prospective customers would need before moving from evaluation to deployment.
  • Support selected investor and strategic-partner conversations where appropriate.
  • Help strengthen BiomeQ's US network of operators, advisers, customers and potential future board members.

You will not be expected to manage day-to-day sales activity or operational delivery.

The initial engagement will run for three months on a pro-bono basis. This is intended to be a focused, senior-level relationship rather than a substantial weekly operating commitment. Subject to mutual fit, company progress and appropriate governance, there may subsequently be an opportunity to transition into a formal Strategic Adviser, Board Adviser or related long-term position.
