Help shape the future of one of the South East's most ambitious social care organisations

Active Prospects is an award-winning charity supporting autistic people and people with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, mental health needs, acquired brain injuries and other complex needs to live full and aspiring lives. Supporting more than 300 people and employing around 500 colleagues, the organisation combines a powerful social purpose with the scale and complexity of a growing provider of care, housing and community support.

As part of an ambitious growth agenda, Active Prospects is seeking a Chief Finance and Growth Officer to join its Executive Leadership Team.

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive, this newly created role has been designed to strengthen executive leadership capacity and ensure that financial strategy, growth, investment and business planning are fully aligned with the organisation's long-term ambitions.

The Role

The Chief Finance and Growth Officer will provide strategic leadership across finance, business planning, financial modelling, treasury, business development, property investment and digital services. You will work closely with the Chief Executive, Board and senior leadership team to ensure the organisation remains financially resilient while pursuing sustainable growth opportunities that enhance impact for the people it supports.

The role oversees a broad portfolio, including finance, business development, the housing subsidiary, digital transformation and investment planning. You will lead long-term financial strategy, borrowing and treasury management, support the organisation's ambitions to expand its housing offer and help shape opportunities for future growth.

Active Prospects is entering an exciting period of development. The organisation is considering how it can significantly increase its impact over the coming years, supported by strong leadership, financial stability and a willingness to explore innovative approaches. As a result, this role requires someone who can think creatively, challenge constructively and bring commercial insight alongside strong financial stewardship.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
