Level: Executive / Leadership

Own Medora's financial function through its next stage of growth, including financial management, healthcare economics, accounting, commercial analysis, forecasting, reporting and financial controls.

Core Responsibilities

  • Own overall financial strategy and financial planning.
  • Own bookkeeping, accounting, reconciliations and financial reporting.
  • Manage cash flow, burn rate, runway and working capital.
  • Build and maintain monthly management accounts.
  • Own budgeting, forecasting and financial modelling.
  • Develop financial models for new products, markets and commercial opportunities.
  • Track revenue, gross margin, contribution margin and unit economics.
  • Establish financial reporting and KPI dashboards.
  • Support commercial negotiations with financial modelling and deal analysis.
  • Evaluate pricing, reimbursement and commercial structures.
  • Manage payroll, tax, statutory reporting and external accountants.
  • Establish appropriate financial controls and approval processes.

Required Finance Experience

  • 8+ years in finance, accounting or financial leadership.
  • Previous CFO, Finance Director, VP Finance or equivalent senior role.
  • Strong accounting knowledge.
  • Strong financial modelling skills.
  • Advanced Excel / Google Sheets.
  • Experience with accounting and financial systems.
  • Strong understanding of P&L, balance sheet and cash flow.
  • Budgeting and forecasting experience.
  • Experience managing external accountants / auditors.
  • Strong financial controls and governance experience.

  • Healthcare / healthtech experience.
  • Startup / high-growth company experience.
  • Experience with SaaS or recurring-revenue businesses.
  • Experience with insurance / medical schemes.
  • Experience with pharmacy or provider networks.
  • Experience with South African and/or US financial environments.
  • Experience supporting enterprise commercial negotiations.
  • Experience with fundraising, SAFEs and venture-backed companies.

Work closely with the CEO/founder on strategy and capital allocation.
