Chief Finance Officer
UNICEF UK | London (Hybrid, minimum two days per week in the office) | c.£135,000 + benefits
Are you a strategic finance leader who wants to help shape the future of one of the world's most recognised and trusted organisations?
UNICEF UK is the UK Committee for UNICEF, the world's leading organisation for children. We inspire and engage supporters, raise vital funds, champion children's rights and create lasting change for children in the UK and around the world. We employ over 400 colleagues in the UK and have an income exceeding £150m. At a time when conflict, climate change and inequality are affecting millions of children globally, our mission has never been more important.
This is an exciting moment to join us. UNICEF UK is entering a new strategic chapter, built around defending children's rights, growing our influence and diversifying how we generate income and impact. We have grown our income significantly through developing new commercial opportunities, expanding audience engagement, and building on the success of partnerships and ventures like Soccer Aid that have transformed our fundraising model.
We're now looking for an exceptional Chief Finance Officer to join us as a key member of the Executive Team. Reporting to our Chief Executive, you will play a central role in shaping organisational strategy, performance and sustainability. This is far more than a stewardship role. You will help define UNICEF UK's future business model, evaluate investment opportunities, support commercial growth and ensure we have the financial insight, governance and resilience required to deliver our new strategy and maximise our impact for children.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
