There is a particular moment in a startup’s life when the decisions become much more valuable. Customers want the product. The capital is there. And choices about pricing, hiring and where to invest begin to determine how large the company can become. This business is at that inflexion point.
The company
An application-layer AI company with exceptional product-market fit, it has recently raised a very significant Series A and is expanding rapidly in the United States. Its proprietary, trademarked technology has already found a market that wants what it does. At circa $10 million ARR today, the business expects to grow to well over $50 million in a very short period.
That trajectory creates an unusually interesting CFO role.
You will inherit a talented Head of Finance, giving you a strong partner as you build the financial thinking and processes needed for the next stage. Some of the most consequential work will begin with a blank page.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

How should the product be priced as its value to customers grows? Where does another pound of investment produce the greatest return? How quickly should the company build its US presence? What needs to be true before it accelerates further? These questions will sit at the centre of your job.
The role
We are looking for an expert capital allocator who enjoys getting close to the product, the customer and the commercial decisions. Someone who can work directly with go-to-market leadership to build pricing discipline, understand the economics of growth and turn that understanding into better decisions. You will need to create processes where none exist, with enough structure to help people move quickly and make good judgements.
The people around you make the opportunity more compelling.
The founders have previously delivered substantial, highly respected exits. They understand the demands of building a valuable company and have created a deeply collaborative culture. The lead investor is top-tier and brings the judgement, relationships and experience that make smart money useful long after the funding round closes.

This role could suit:
- An experienced CFO who has already helped scale a business beyond 50 million ARR and wants to return to a Series A+ environment, where there is still a great deal to build.
- An exceptional VP of Finance who has worked directly with the executive team in an elite startup, developed strong commercial judgement and is ready to take the CFO seat.
In either case, you should enjoy taking responsibility while the answers are still being worked out.
The appeal is straightforward: proven customer demand, substantial capital, experienced founders and a large amount of company-building still ahead. Your decisions will have a direct bearing on what this business becomes.
