Fractional CFO - 1 day per week - opportunity to scale

JSS are partnering exclusively with a rapidly scaling FMCG brand to recruit a Fractional CFO, initially on a one-day-per-week basis, to support the business through a critical period of growth and prepare for a future exit.

The Role

Acting as a strategic advisor to the Board and SLT, the CFO will take the lead on developing and executing the financial strategy, investment strategy and fundraising plans, while driving exit readiness, entity restructuring, and exploring potential JVs and strategic partnerships.

Reporting directly to the founders, this is a genuine board-level position requiring a strong, commercially minded leader who can challenge, advise, lead and push back when required, helping to shape the direction of the business and enable its continued growth.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

The initial requirement is one day per week, with the opportunity to scale up as the business grows and, if/when a sale process arises, to provide increased support through the transaction.
