About the Role

Midlands-based capital equipment SME is seeking a commercially astute Chief Financial Officer to join its Executive Leadership Team. Operating across material handling equipment, construction, groundworks, quarrying, and specialist services, the company has an ambitious growth agenda, including organic development and strategic acquisitions.

A successful candidate will shape and execute a robust financial strategy to support the Group’s ambitious growth plans. Reporting to the Chief Executive, the CFO will operate across a complex, fast-paced, multi-subsidiary environment and play a key role in the Executive Leadership Team.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the finance strategy
  • Oversee a finance team
  • Strengthen budgeting, forecasting, statutory reporting, and management information
  • Provide commercial insight to support operational and strategic decision-making
  • Oversee governance, risk, legal, audit, and regulatory compliance
  • Manage cash flow, working capital, and balance sheet performance
  • Build strong relationships with lenders, HMRC, and other external stakeholders
  • Partner with the leadership team across a complex, fast-paced, multi-subsidiary environment

Qualifications & Required Skills

  • CIMA/ACA/ACCA qualification
  • Understanding of supply chain challenges, project financing, bill of materials
  • Experience in multi-site industrial environments, diverse subsidiaries within a Group
  • Intellectual curiosity and exceptional communication skills
