About the Role

Our client is a well-established engineering and manufacturing group operating in highly regulated and technically demanding markets. They are seeking to appoint a Chief Financial Officer to join the executive leadership team at a pivotal stage in the organisation's growth journey. The role will report directly to the CEO and play a central part in shaping the future direction of the business.

The group has experienced strong growth in recent years and is pursuing ambitious plans to significantly expand through a combination of organic growth, acquisitions and international development. This is a rare opportunity for an experienced finance leader to influence strategy, support investment decisions and help drive long-term business performance.

The Opportunity

This is considerably more than a traditional finance leadership role. As a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, you will provide both financial and commercial leadership across the organisation, supporting strategic decision-making while ensuring robust governance, compliance and financial control.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
