Chief Financial Officer | Fast-Scaling B2B SaaS Business | London (Hybrid)

The Client:

Harmonic is delighted to be retained on the search for a Chief Financial Officer with a fast-scaling B2B SaaS business headquartered in London. The company has built a loyal and expanding customer base, grown in a disciplined and capital-efficient way, and has been quickly gaining market share within its space.

Well capitalised and backed by high-calibre investors, with an international presence the business is now focused on accelerating commercial expansion and putting the operational foundations in place to support the next stage of the journey as the company becomes more mature and established within its sector.

As the business enters this pivotal period, it is looking to appoint a CFO as one of its most significant senior hires to date.

The Role:

Reporting directly to the CEO, the CFO will sit at the centre of how the business is run and how it scales. This is a commercial, forward-facing appointment rather than a purely operational one. The successful candidate will act as a trusted sounding board to the CEO, bringing financial discipline and strategic clarity to the questions that matter most: where to invest, how to play a key role in future funding for the next stage of growth, and how to scale at pace without loosening financial control.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the CEO's principal commercial partner across strategy, capital allocation and investor relations.
  • Own and evolve the financial model as a live tool that shapes decisions on hiring, commercial investment, pricing and product priorities.
  • Take the lead on investor relationships and drive preparation for the next funding round, positioning the business for future capital raises as it scales.
  • Build out and professionalise the finance function, maturing the team, systems, controls and reporting from an early-stage footing into something fit for a business of scale.
  • Champion an AI-centric finance function, embedding agentic and automated processes to reduce manual effort, sharpen forecasting and speed up decision-making.
  • Build and embed a SaaS metrics framework in partnership with Sales, RevOps and the wider leadership team.
  • Operate cross-functionally, partnering closely with commercial, product and operational leaders so finance is a genuine driver of performance rather than a support function.
  • Run the annual operating plan, rolling forecasts and monthly reporting, keeping the emphasis on insight that informs action.
  • Model the economics of international expansion and support planning for new market entry.
  • Maintain strong financial controls, statutory compliance and audit-readiness across all group entities.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
