Chief Finance Officer - Golden Lane Housing

Salary: £110,840.50 per annum, plus Car Allowance (£4,988.74) and Home Working Allowance (£625.10)

Golden Lane Housing is seeking an exceptional finance leader to join its Executive Team as Chief Finance Officer. This is a rare opportunity to shape the future of one of the UK's leading specialist supported housing providers, helping an organisation with a clear social purpose continue to deliver high-quality homes and services for people with a learning disability and autistic people across England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Recognised by the Regulator of Social Housing with the highest possible ratings for Governance (G1), Financial Viability (V1) and Consumer Standards (C1), Golden Lane Housing has built an outstanding reputation for financial strength, strong governance and excellent tenant outcomes. As Chief Finance Officer, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining this success while helping the organisation deliver its ambitious plans for the future.

Working alongside the Chief Executive, Board and Executive Team, you will provide strategic financial leadership across the organisation. You'll lead the development and delivery of the financial strategy, business plan and treasury strategy, ensuring long-term sustainability while supporting growth, investment and innovation. As a trusted adviser, you will influence decision-making at the highest level, providing clear financial insight and constructive challenge to support organisational performance and future opportunities.

This is a broad Executive leadership role with responsibility for financial governance, treasury management, business planning, risk management and regulatory compliance. You'll oversee financial planning, forecasting and business modelling, maintain strong relationships with lenders, auditors and regulators, and ensure the organisation continues to operate with robust financial controls and a resilient funding position. At the same time, you'll lead and develop a high-performing finance function, embedding a strong business partnering approach and driving continuous improvement in systems, reporting and data insight.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
