Chief Financial Officer

We're partnering with a private equity-backed manufacturing business (c.£20m revenue) to appoint a hands-on Chief Financial Officer.

The CFO will lead the finance function, partner closely with the CEO and investors, and build the group finance infrastructure to support significant growth organic and through M&A. This is a lean, high-visibility environment: real impact, direct exposure to the board, and the chance to shape the function from the ground up.

The CFO will report to the CEO, with a dotted line to the investor group.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all aspects of finance: financial control, management accounts, statutory reporting, cash management
  • Own working capital and inventory management across multiple sites, including stock control, WIP and cash conversion cycle
  • Own capex planning and investment cases for machinery/plant across the group's manufacturing sites
  • Own budgeting, forecasting and long-term planning, with clear insight on performance and outlook
  • Build board-quality KPIs and reporting for the CEO, investors and leadership team, including operational metrics such as OEE, scrap/waste and capacity utilisation, in partnership with operations
  • Build and develop the finance team as the business scales
  • Partner with operations/COO on site performance, margins and manufacturing efficiency
  • Support procurement and supply chain exposure supplier risk, raw material costs, and FX on inputs where relevant
  • Support commercial activity pricing, contracts, customer profitability across UK and US.
  • Partner with the CEO and PE sponsor on the value-creation plan, including bolt-on M&A
  • Own governance, risk and compliance: banking, audit, tax
  • Sit as a core, visible member of the leadership team

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
