Location: Flexible (remote, with access to UK hubs such as London / Midlands)
Reporting to: Principal(s) / Family Ownership
Structure: Single-family office with operating businesses and investment entities

Role Overview

The CFO will act as the central financial steward for a private family, overseeing the flow of funds from a holding structure into multiple family investment vehicles and operating businesses. The role combines strategic oversight, hands-on implementation, and coordination of external advisers across tax, accounting, and wealth management.

This is a newly created position, responsible for building and professionalising the family’s finance infrastructure following a significant liquidity event.

Key Responsibilities

Family Office & Structural Oversight

  • Design, implement, and lead a family office–style finance function from the ground up.
  • Oversee cash and asset flows between the holding entity, family investment companies, and operating businesses.
  • Establish and maintain appropriate financial controls, processes, and reporting across all entities.
  • Ensure accurate and timely consolidated reporting for the principals.

Intercompany & Entity Management

  • Structure, document, and manage intercompany loans (including interest calculations and reconciliations).
  • Maintain books and records across multiple entities, including investment vehicles and trading companies.
  • Oversee transfers of funds to and from operating businesses (e.g., real estate, healthcare, construction, leisure, or similar sectors).

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
