Group Chief Financial Officer
Investor-Facing | Fundraising | Multi-Entity Financial Strategy
Agora is conducting a confidential retained search for a Group Chief Financial Officer on behalf of a Europe-based investment platform operating across a growing portfolio of venture-backed businesses.
This is not a traditional controllership role. The successful candidate will act as the group’s financial architect, institutional representative and bridge to global capital markets, helping shape how the wider platform is financed, governed and positioned for international growth.
The Role
Working across the investment platform, its portfolio companies and shared operating entities, the Group CFO will:
- Lead and support institutional fundraising and strategic financing processes.
- Build relationships with venture capital firms, growth investors, family offices, sovereign investors and strategic partners.
- Develop compelling investor narratives for a complex, multi-entity group.
- Structure strategic partnerships, commercial agreements and platform-level opportunities.
- Design group-wide governance, reporting and financial-control frameworks.
- Support audit readiness, valuations, NAV processes, internal controls and conflict-of-interest governance.
- Ensure portfolio businesses are financially structured and prepared to raise institutional capital.
- Represent the group credibly with investors, boards and external stakeholders across the US and Europe.

Candidate Profile
We are looking for a senior finance leader who has operated at the intersection of capital, strategy and operations.
The strongest candidates are likely to offer:
- Experience as a Group CFO, divisional CFO or senior investor-facing finance leader within a venture-backed, high-growth or multi-entity environment.
- A strong network and genuine credibility across institutional venture capital, growth equity, family offices, strategic investors or related capital providers.
- A proven track record supporting or leading fundraising and complex financing processes.
- Exceptional executive presence and the ability to communicate a sophisticated investment proposition clearly.
- Experience designing governance, reporting and finance infrastructure across multiple businesses or jurisdictions.
- Strong knowledge of consolidations, intercompany structures, valuations, audit readiness and internal controls.
- Commercial judgement and experience structuring strategic partnerships or enterprise-level agreements.
- The ability to operate effectively across several businesses at different stages of maturity.
- An international outlook and flexibility to work across European and US markets.

The Opportunity
This is a rare opportunity to take a central role within an ambitious, internationally focused investment ecosystem.
The appointment will suit a commercially minded CFO who enjoys engaging with investors, shaping strategy and building the financial architecture required to support significant growth.
The package will be highly competitive and is expected to include base salary, bonus and long-term equity or carry participation.
Location and working arrangements will be discussed confidentially with shortlisted candidates. International travel will be required.
