As our Chief Information Security Officer, you’ll be part of the Technology team working closely with brilliant people across the business and reporting into Chief Technology Officer. You’ll be right at the heart of fast‑moving projects that shape how we show up for our consumers - today and tomorrow.

WHERE YOU CONTRIBUTE

As our Chief Information Security Officer, you will lead Dr. Martens’ global information security agenda, shaping and delivering a Cyber Security Strategy that protects our brand, customers, colleagues, operations and digital platforms. You will be accountable for improving security maturity, maintaining key compliance certifications and ensuring security priorities are aligned to our commercial goals, risk appetite and global technology roadmap.

You will be a trusted executive advisor, able to translate complex cyber, technology and compliance matters into clear, business-focused recommendations for the Board, Executive Committee and senior stakeholders. You will provide practical guidance on risk, investment, control effectiveness, delivery priorities and the trade-offs required to protect Dr. Martens while enabling growth and innovation.

You will set the standard for governance, risk management and compliance across the organisation, ensuring our policies, processes and controls are effective, demonstrable and proportionate to the risks we face. You will bring strong working knowledge of relevant frameworks and obligations, including ISO 27001, GDPR, CCPA, PCI DSS and NIST CSF 2.0, and use them to strengthen how Dr. Martens manages cyber risk globally.

You will be an influential senior leader who keeps ahead of emerging threats, regulatory change and technology trends that could affect Dr. Martens. You will help the business make confident, informed decisions on areas such as AI, data, software and digital platforms, ensuring innovation is supported by clear security guardrails and responsible risk management.

Core Accountabilities

As our Chief Information Security Officer, you will be responsible for:

  • Owning and delivering the global Cyber Strategy, aligning priorities, investment and operating models to business objectives, risk, regulatory requirements and cyber maturity.
  • Leading information security risk management, governance, policies and standards, including audits, third-party risk, PCI-DSS, regulatory compliance and security reporting to senior leadership and governance forums.
  • Overseeing security operations, vulnerability and penetration testing, third-party security partnerships and incident response, acting as the senior escalation point for material security incidents and strengthening cyber resilience.
  • Partnering with Security Engineering and Architecture teams to ensure effective security controls, technology partnerships and security-by-design principles across IAM, PAM, email security, AI, development and data management.
  • Leading, coaching and developing the global Information Security team while building strong relationships across Technology, Legal, Compliance, Risk and wider business stakeholders to drive effective security outcomes.

Key Skills & Capabilities

Put simply, the key things we’re looking for are:

  • Significant experience in Information Security, Cyber Security, Risk or a related senior leadership environment, with strong knowledge of security strategy, governance and risk management.
  • Strong understanding of current and emerging cyber threats, security technologies, regulatory requirements and industry frameworks, with experience leading audits and compliance programmes.
  • Proven leadership and people-management skills, with the ability to develop high-performing teams, build capability and influence senior stakeholders across a global organisation.
  • Strong communication, decision-making and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage complex incidents, risk escalations and confidential matters with integrity and sound judgement.
  • Relevant professional qualifications such as CISSP, CISM, CRISC or AIGP are advantageous, alongside a commitment to continuous learning and staying current with emerging security and AI risks.
