RiderTax
RiderTax is a UK tax-tech startup building financial infrastructure around the needs of delivery riders and the wider self-employed gig economy.
We’re starting with one of the biggest problems riders face: managing income, expenses, tax and Making Tax Digital requirements across disconnected systems.
A rider might earn through multiple platforms, pay separately for insurance, fuel, vehicle costs and maintenance, track mileage somewhere else, and then somehow be expected to make all of those numbers work at tax time.
We believe there is a better way.
RiderTax is being built specifically around how riders actually work — mobile-first, simple, affordable and designed for a workforce that has historically been underserved by traditional accountancy and generic self-employed software.
But tax is only where we start.
Our longer-term ambition is to build a trusted financial layer around the rider economy.
Income → mileage → expenses → vehicle costs → insurance → tax.
One workforce. One ecosystem. Better infrastructure.
RiderTax is early-stage, ambitious and building toward launch.
The Opportunity
We’re looking for an entrepreneurial Chief Marketing Officer to help build RiderTax from the ground up.
This is not a traditional CMO role. There is no mature brand to inherit. No established acquisition engine to optimise. No large marketing department to manage.
You will help build those things.
Working directly with the founders, you will play a major role in shaping how RiderTax goes to market, how riders discover and trust us, how our brand develops, and how we build distribution through communities and strategic partnerships.
We need someone who can think like a CMO and operate like an early-stage founder. Someone comfortable moving between strategy and execution.
Someone willing to talk to riders, test messaging, launch campaigns, analyse results, build partnerships and change direction quickly when the evidence says we should.
Reasons to use Rodeo
I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What You’ll Own
You will take ownership of RiderTax’s marketing and growth strategy, including:
- Building and executing our go-to-market strategy
- Defining RiderTax’s positioning, messaging and brand
- Identifying, testing and scaling customer acquisition channels
- Building community-led growth across rider networks
- Developing referral and rider ambassador programmes
- Creating partnership-led distribution opportunities
- Leading content, social, performance and growth marketing
- Turning rider insight into campaigns and product positioning
- Building trust around tax, MTD and financial education
- Establishing measurable acquisition, conversion, engagement and retention metrics
- Working closely with product and business development
- Helping shape commercial strategy alongside the founders
- Building the future marketing team, systems and processes as RiderTax scales
Our current go-to-market thesis is deliberately community and partnership-led — using rider communities, ambassadors and relationships with businesses already embedded in riders’ working lives rather than relying solely on conventional advertising.
Who We’re Looking For

- Experience finding, testing and scaling acquisition channels
- Strong understanding of performance and digital marketing

- Experience developing strategic partnerships or distribution channels
- Strong brand positioning and storytelling ability
- A commercial, data-driven approach to marketing
- Confidence working with limited early-stage resources
- The ability to operate without perfect information or large teams
- Strong leadership and cross-functional communication skills

Experience in fintech, marketplaces, SaaS, consumer technology, gig economy or financial services would be particularly valuable. A relevant degree is welcome.
Evidence that you can build matters more.
The Person We Want
We’re looking for a builder.
Someone who sees a blank page as an opportunity rather than a problem.
Someone comfortable testing something on Monday, discovering it doesn’t work on Wednesday, and launching something better on Friday.
Someone who understands that at pre-seed:
- speed matters.
- learning matters.
- customers matter.
And vanity metrics don’t.
Ideally, you’ve experienced some part of the journey:
- Idea → Launch → Traction → Scale
And now you want to help build that journey again.
Why RiderTax?
Delivery riders are surrounded by financial activity every day.
- Platform income.
- Mileage.
- Fuel.
- Insurance.
- Vehicle costs.
- Maintenance.
- Expenses.
- Tax.
But those pieces rarely talk to each other. We believe that fragmentation creates a much bigger opportunity than simply building another tax app.
Our strategy starts with solving a painful, recurring problem exceptionally well, earning trust with one underserved workforce, and expanding from there.
The existing RiderTax strategy already identifies community acquisition, rider ambassadors and partnerships with delivery platforms, vehicle providers, insurers and rider organisations as core distribution channels.
Tax is the wedge. The rider is the relationship. Distribution is the advantage. The rider economy is the opportunity.
If you want to join a polished company with everything already figured out, this probably isn’t the role. If you want to help build the brand, find the growth engine and shape a category from the beginning, we should talk.
