About The Job
Buji is a consumer healthcare platform on a mission to make the world’s best healthcare accessible to everyone.
We are building a new way to access treatment, bringing assessment, clinical review, treatment planning, travel, treatment and aftercare into one connected experience.
Through Buji, patients can access high-quality care from our international network of clinical partners, with clear pricing, coordinated care and continued support throughout their journey.
We are initially focused on elective healthcare across areas including hair restoration, dental, movement and fertility, with a much broader ambition for how people access healthcare globally.
About the Role
As Medical Director at Buji, you will lead the clinical strategy, governance and standards that underpin our model of care.
You will work closely with our team and clinical partners to ensure that patient safety, clinical quality and good outcomes are embedded across every stage of the Buji experience.
This is a highly cross-functional role. You will help shape how patients are assessed, how clinical partners are selected and monitored, how treatment pathways are designed, how outcomes are measured, and how Buji safely expands into new treatments and geographies.
You Will
- Lead Clinical Governance: Develop and oversee Buji’s clinical governance framework, ensuring robust standards for patient safety, quality and clinical oversight.
- Define Clinical Standards: Establish the standards and protocols that govern patient assessment, suitability, treatment pathways, escalation and aftercare.
- Shape Our Clinical Network: Support the selection, credentialing and ongoing evaluation of clinicians and clinical partners across Buji’s international network.
- Design Patient Pathways: Work with our team and specialist clinicians to build safe, effective and consumer-friendly care pathways from initial assessment through to long-term aftercare.
- Measure Outcomes: Define how Buji captures, monitors and evaluates clinical outcomes, complications, patient safety indicators and quality across its network.
- Lead Clinical Quality: Review clinical performance and help develop systems for identifying and addressing variation in quality or outcomes.
- Support New Treatments: Provide clinical leadership as Buji evaluates and launches new treatment categories, providers and geographies.
- Work Cross-Functionally: Partner with Product, Operations, Commercial and our clinical network to ensure clinical considerations are built into how Buji operates and grows.

Experience & Skills
- Medical Registration: Current GMC registration and licence to practise in the UK.
- Clinical Experience: Significant post-registration clinical experience with strong clinical judgement and a demonstrable commitment to patient safety and quality.
- Clinical Governance: Strong understanding of clinical governance, risk management, safeguarding, quality improvement and patient safety.
- Leadership: Experience providing clinical leadership and working effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
- Quality & Outcomes: Ability to evaluate clinical evidence, treatment pathways and outcomes and translate these into practical standards of care.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with clinicians, patients, operational teams and external partners.
- Patient Focus: A strong belief in delivering healthcare around the needs and outcomes of the individual patient.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience in one or more of the following would be particularly valuable:
- Private or independent healthcare
- Digital health or health technology
- International or cross-border healthcare
- Clinical governance or medical leadership
- Elective or procedural medicine
- Developing clinical pathways or services
- Provider credentialing and quality assurance
- Clinical outcomes and quality measurement
- Working across multiple clinical specialties
Experience across Buji’s initial treatment categories is not required. We expect to work with specialist clinical leaders and clinicians within individual treatment areas.
We are looking for someone capable of providing clinical leadership across the broader Buji platform.
The Role
The position is UK-based with flexible working.
We are open to discussing the appropriate working arrangement with the right candidate, including an initial part-time commitment with the opportunity for the role to develop as Buji grows.
We want to build a clinical model that patients can trust regardless of where in the world their treatment takes place.
