Strategy Lead / Chief of Staff (Enterprise Infrastructure)
๐ Location: Sheffield (Preferred) (2-3 days per week at the office)
๐ Duration: 6 months contract, inside Ir35 (possible extension up to 24 months)
The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Strategy Lead / Chief of Staff to support the Managing Director, Head of Enterprise Infrastructure within a global technology organisation.
This is a high-impact leadership role operating at the centre of a large-scale Enterprise Infrastructure function. You will drive strategic planning, coordinate leadership priorities, and ensure effective execution of technology and business objectives across a complex and highly regulated environment.
Working closely with senior executives, you will translate strategy into actionable plans, establish a strong operating rhythm across the leadership team, and help deliver measurable outcomes across transformation, resilience, modernisation, financial management, and service excellence initiatives.
About the Role
Enterprise Infrastructure is responsible for operating, maintaining, and transforming the technology platforms that support critical business applications and services across a global organisation.
The environment spans a broad range of technologies including:
- Compute and server platforms
- Storage solutions
- Databases
- Mainframe technologies
- Middleware platforms
- Cloud and hybrid infrastructure
- Automation and infrastructure tooling
As Strategy Lead / Chief of Staff, you will play a key role in shaping the strategic direction of the function while ensuring alignment, governance, and delivery across multiple stakeholder groups.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the annual and multi-year Enterprise Infrastructure strategy and planning cycle.
- Translate technology and business priorities into clear transformation roadmaps and strategic initiatives.
- Produce high-quality executive materials, including strategy presentations, governance packs, and decision papers.
- Own the leadership team's operating cadence, coordinating weekly, monthly, and quarterly reviews.
- Track delivery of strategic priorities, proactively identifying dependencies, risks, issues, and decision points.
- Support investment planning, budget management, financial transparency, and benefits realisation.
- Partner with Transformation and COO teams to drive execution and strategic change initiatives.
- Support workforce planning, capability development, and resource prioritisation activities.
- Drive productivity, simplification, and continuous improvement initiatives across the organisation.
- Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders across Technology, Operations, Finance, Procurement, and Business leadership teams.
- Facilitate collaboration across complex organisational structures, ensuring alignment and effective decision-making.
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven experience in Strategy, Transformation, Portfolio Management, Business Management, or Chief of Staff roles.
- Strong background within Technology Infrastructure or a related technology environment.
- Good understanding of infrastructure domains such as compute, storage, cloud platforms, and hybrid operating models.
- Experience working within financial services or another highly regulated industry.
- Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive outcomes in large, matrix organisations.
- Experience supporting executive leadership teams and managing strategic operating rhythms.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to create compelling executive-level narratives.
- Strong analytical capability with experience in prioritisation, business case development, financial planning, governance, and risk management.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and navigate ambiguity in a fast-paced environment.
