About Navys

Navys is a venture-backed legal technology company building enterprise workflow software for private capital markets.

The platform replaces manual, email-driven legal processes with a structured system that enables funds lawyers, GPs and LPs to execute complex transactions more efficiently. Navys is focused on real legal workflows, not generic AI tools or document summarisation, and is designed to support production-grade, enterprise use cases.

Navys is building core infrastructure for how funds legal work is done, with a strong emphasis on execution, clarity, and real-world impact. Early commercial traction includes strong engagement from AmLaw100 firms and leading private equity funds, reflecting clear market demand and validation from top-tier industry participants.

Role Summary

Navys is seeking a Chief of Staff to sit at the centre of the company and own the connection between the client, the market, and the team building the product. This is a broad, hands-on role, not a coordinating one, for someone who combines real funds and private equity legal understanding with a genuine appetite for sales and the range to work across sales, growth, marketing, and product. Selling, winning clients, and carrying commercial targets is a significant part of the job.

A core part of this role is simply making sure things get done, wherever the need is greatest, whether that is operations, legal, product, sales, or go-to-market. Working directly with the CEO, you will move fluidly across the business, picking up whatever matters most on any given day and owning it to completion. One day that might mean translating what a client needs for the engineering team, the next closing a deal, tightening a process, or shipping a piece of marketing. Around that core, you will run the commercial and go-to-market side, winning and keeping clients, shaping how Navys presents itself to the market, and feeding what you learn back into the roadmap.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

As a core member of the early team, you will work as a close partner to the CEO with wide ownership, wearing several hats, and moving between deep legal detail and company-level priorities as the day demands.

Responsibilities

Product and Legal Input

  • Translate funds and private equity legal workflows, and what clients and the market need, into clear direction for the engineering team so what Navys builds reflects real market practice and real demand
  • Work with engineering to structure legal knowledge, review outputs for legal precision, and act as the bridge between legal expertise and technical implementation

Sales and Client Ownership

  • Own sales end to end, from sourcing and qualifying leads through pitching, negotiating, and closing new clients, carrying real responsibility for pipeline and revenue
  • Build and deepen relationships with private equity funds, other private capital funds, GPs, LPs, and the law firms that serve them, from first conversation through to long-term partnership
  • Translate complex legal workflows into clear commercial value, and stay close to clients to onboard them, drive adoption, and turn them into advocates and references

Growth and Marketing

  • Shape how Navys is positioned and talked about in the market, owning messaging, content, and outbound so the story lands with a funds and private equity audience
  • Build and run the demand and pipeline motion in the early phase, then define the processes and hires to scale it

Internal Operations

  • Keep the company running day to day, owning internal operations across the team and stepping in wherever there are gaps
  • Set up and improve the systems, tools, and processes that help a small team move quickly, and take on the internal projects that keep everything on track

Candidate Profile

Essential Requirements

  • Firsthand understanding of funds or private equity legal work, whether as a practitioner, in-house, or working closely with funds and the law firms that serve them
  • Genuine commercial instinct and comfort owning client relationships and leading conversations with senior, sophisticated counterparties
  • The range and willingness to work across legal, commercial, marketing, and product, moving between deep detail and company-level priorities
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and in person
  • Comfort operating independently at pace in an early-stage environment with limited structure
  • Based in or able to work from London on a hybrid basis
