Join us at one of the most important moments in our history.
Life Services Group is bringing together some of the UK's most recognised end-of-life brands under a single vision, creating a modern, connected organisation that supports families through some of life's most significant moments. Our mission is to help families navigate difficult times with simplicity, dignity, kindness and exceptional care, whilst building the UK's leading end-of-life services business.
We have ambitious plans.
Over the coming years, we will be transforming how we operate, how we serve our customers, how we leverage technology and data, and how we bring together our businesses under a unified Life Services Group strategy. This will involve large-scale operational transformation, cultural evolution, digital modernisation and business change programmes across the Group.
To help us deliver that ambition, we are looking for a Chief of Staff & Transformation Director. This is a career-defining opportunity for someone who thrives at the centre of business transformation.
The Opportunity
Few roles offer this level of visibility, influence and impact.
Reporting directly to the Chief People & Transformation Officer and working closely with the CEO and Executive Leadership Team, you will sit at the heart of our transformation agenda, helping turn strategic ambition into tangible delivery.
You will act as a trusted partner to senior leaders, bringing structure to complexity, creating momentum where progress is needed and ensuring that critical transformation initiatives remain aligned, visible and on track.
This is not a traditional Chief of Staff role. Nor is it a pure transformation leadership role. It is a unique blend of both.
You will influence how major decisions are made, how priorities are set, how programmes are governed and ultimately how Life Services Group delivers the next phase of its evolution.
Why This Role Matters
The next few years will be transformational for Life Services Group.
We are investing in our future, modernising how we work, enhancing our customer experience, evolving our operating model and accelerating our digital journey across the organisation.
Success will require exceptional coordination, leadership alignment and delivery discipline.
You will help ensure the right conversations happen at the right time, that strategic priorities translate into actionable plans and that transformation programmes remain focused on delivering meaningful outcomes for our colleagues, customers and communities.
What You'll Be Doing
- Working directly with the CEO, Chief People & Transformation Officer and Executive Leadership Team.
- Driving visibility, governance and oversight across major transformation programmes.
- Bringing pace, focus and accountability to strategic priorities.
- Tracking programme delivery, risks, dependencies, milestones and benefits.
- Supporting executive decision making through clear insight, recommendations and briefing materials.
- Resolving barriers to progress by aligning stakeholders and driving action.
- Leading complex initiatives and stepping into critical programmes when additional leadership support is required.
- Helping shape the future operating model of Life Services Group and supporting our ongoing digital transformation journey.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Our ambition is to support one in three families across the UK as they plan for, navigate and deal with death. We want to set a new standard for care, service and simplicity across the sector.
Death is part of life, and being there for families when it matters is what we do. That means making difficult moments feel more supported, more straightforward and more human.
We are building a modern group that supports families at every stage, from planning ahead with wills and funeral plans, to arranging a funeral, cremation or burial, and managing probate afterwards. This is a defining moment for our business. With stronger foundations, clearer strategy and real momentum, we can change end-of-life care for the better. We are modernising how we work, investing in our colleagues and technology, and helping more families than any one brand could alone.
Wherever you work in Life Services Group, in one of our local teams, specialist brands or group functions, you’ll be part of work with meaningful purpose. You will help families through some of life’s hardest and most important moments.
Across all our brands, we want colleagues to grow with us through better training, stronger support, modern tools and clearer opportunities to build skills and confidence. You’ll be part of teams who care deeply about what they do, look out for each other and take pride in doing work that matters.
You will also help shape the future of end-of-life care. That means making support simpler, more connected and more human for families, while each brand keeps the identity, expertise and community connection people already know and trust.
If you want a career with meaningful purpose, room to grow with us and the chance to shape the future, find your Life’s work.
