United Offshore Support GmbH (UOS) is a leading global operator of sophisticated offshore support vessels specializing in the technical, crew, and commercial management of high-powered anchor handling tug/supply (AHTS) vessels, large platform supply vessels (PSVs), and subsea vessels working in the offshore energy industry worldwide. Headquartered in Leer Germany, UOS has a growing office in Aberdeen and commercial management presence in London and Singapore. The on and offshore teams at UOS are highly experienced with a long track record of delivering safe and reliable operations to end clients in just about every offshore energy basin around the world.

We are actively looking for a Chief Officer to join our company.

Summary

The Chief Officer supports the Master/Captain in the safe and efficient operation of the vessel while taking responsibility for cargo operations, deck maintenance, safety management, and leadership of the deck department. The role is essential in ensuring safe offshore operations and maintaining the highest operational standards.

As our fleet continues to grow with 11 active AHTS vessels, 7 active PSVs, and 12 newbuild vessels under construction, we are looking for experienced maritime professionals who want to grow together with us.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Master/Captain in the day-to-day management and safe operation of the vessel.
  • Plan, supervise, and execute cargo and offshore operations safely and efficiently.
  • Lead and supervise the deck crew while promoting teamwork and professional development.
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures, SMS, and international regulations.
  • Maintain deck equipment, lifesaving appliances, firefighting equipment, and safety systems.
  • Conduct risk assessments, toolbox talks, drills, and safety meetings.
  • Monitor vessel stability, cargo planning, and ballast operations.
  • Coordinate planned maintenance activities for deck machinery and equipment.
  • Support audits, inspections, client visits, and port state control inspections.
  • Maintain accurate operational records and reports.
  • Assist with mobilizations, vessel upgrades, and newbuild commissioning when required.

Qualifications

  • Chief Mate Unlimited Certificate of Competency.
  • DP Unlimited Certificate preferred.
  • Previous experience onboard offshore vessels (AHTS and/or PSV).
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Excellent understanding of offshore cargo operations and marine safety.
  • Valid STCW certificates and offshore medical.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Ability to perform effectively in a dynamic offshore environment.
