Chief Operating Officer
Harris Hill is delighted to be recruiting for a Chief Operating Officer on behalf of a well-established hospice and family support charity based in Worcestershire.
Working closely with the Chief Executive Officer, Board of Trustees and Senior Leadership Team, you will play a key role in ensuring the effective day-to-day running of the organisation, supporting its strategic development and helping maintain the highest standards across its services.
About the role
As Chief Operating Officer, you will provide strategic oversight and hands-on leadership across a broad portfolio of operational functions, including HR, finance, facilities, health and safety, IT and information governance.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Supporting organisational strategy and service development.
- HR, recruitment and people management.
- Health and safety, risk management and compliance.
- Facilities, maintenance and contracts.
- IT systems and information governance.
- Financial oversight, budgeting and working closely with the Finance Manager.

This is a varied and influential role, offering the opportunity to shape operational effectiveness and contribute directly to the long-term sustainability of a valued charitable organisation.
About you
You will be an experienced, proactive leader with strong organisational and communication skills and the ability to manage competing priorities. You will have experience in HR, health and safety or facilities management, alongside the confidence to make sound operational and financial decisions.
A background in a similar role and an understanding of the hospice environment would be advantageous.
You will join a committed team, contribute to the development and sustainability of essential services, and help create the strong operational foundations that enable compassionate care and family support to continue.
