Chief Operating Officer – Scale-Up
A rapidly growing national education group is seeking an exceptional leader to help build the next stage of its business.
This is not a traditional COO role. We're looking for someone who has successfully built, scaled or transformed organisations—someone who combines commercial awareness with the energy to roll up their sleeves and make things happen.
You'll be equally comfortable shaping strategy and delivering it, creating structure without bureaucracy, and leading change in a fast-moving entrepreneurial environment.
The Opportunity
- Help shape the next phase of growth across a national education business
- Build scalable systems, processes and operational capability
- Develop high-performing teams and a culture of accountability
- Lead business transformation whilst maintaining exceptional customer experience
- Work closely with the CEO as a trusted partner in delivering ambitious growth plans

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
