Chief People Officer
This is a pivotal moment for Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust. We are embarking on a significant journey of improvement and transformation, creating an organisation where we live our vision of providing great places for care and great places to work.
To help us achieve that ambition, we are seeking an exceptional Chief People Officer to join our Board and Executive Team.
As Chief People Officer, you will be far more than the leader of a People function. You will help shape the future of GMMH, creating culture, leadership and workforce that will enable us to deliver exceptional care and in an environment where colleagues truly thrive, and in doing so can provide the very best care for our communities.
Creating an inclusive culture is hugely important to me personally. I want GMMH to be a place where everyone feels able to bring their whole self to work. When people feel they belong, they do their best work, and that ultimately leads to better care for the communities we serve.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
