The Team
The Chief People Organisation operates as a strategic partner to each area of the bank, focused on making Bank of America a great place to work for all employees in numerous ways including a focus on recognising and rewarding performance, providing development and growth opportunities, ensuring a workplace that is inclusive and provides opportunity for all and supporting employees with physical, emotional and financial wellness.
Programme Overview
Working in partnership, the Communications & Marketing teams play a key role in shaping and promoting the firm's brand, culture and strategic priorities. The team is responsible for a broad range of activities including Internal Communications, External Communications, Marketing, Employer Brand, social media, Content Creation, Events, Campaign Management and Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives.
During the 10-week summer internship programme, you will have the opportunity to rotate through a variety of these functions while working on engaging and impactful projects that support business objectives and strengthen employee and external engagement.
Training and Development
Your training and development is our top priority, with extensive formal training offered at the start of the programme in addition to on-the-job support, educational speaker events and mentorship throughout.

Responsibilities
- Collaborate on projects across the Communications & Marketing team that contribute to key brand, engagement and business objectives.
- Support initiatives across the team including Internal Communications, External Communications, Marketing, Employer Brand, social media and Events.
- Assist with the creation of engaging content for a variety of channels, including intranet articles, social media posts, presentations, campaigns and marketing materials.
- Support employer branding and attraction activities that help promote the organisation as an employer of choice.
- Participate in projects focused on audience engagement, campaign effectiveness, content strategy and continuous improvement across communications and marketing activities.
- Contribute to event planning and execution, helping to deliver both internal and external events that enhance employee and stakeholder engagement
Eligibility
Candidates are required to be pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an accredited college or university with a completion time frame between September 2027 and July 2028. Completion means that you have completed all final exams, coursework, and have no outstanding requirements for graduation. Please note that we reserve the right to request evidence of this completion date before extending an offer.
- On track for a minimum 2:1 degree classification (or equivalent)
- Must be available to join the programme from June 2027 to August 2027
Candidates who perform well during the internship may be offered full time employment to commence in July 2028; some lines of business may also offer the opportunity of a January or April start date. You must be available to join on one of these start dates if offered, unfortunately we are unable to offer deferrals.
What We Are Looking For
Essential
- Show demonstrable evidence of self-learning outside of studies, and efforts to advance technical skills
- Display clear motivation for exploring an HR career within financial services.
- Demonstrate capacity for innovative thinking and strong problem solving
- Demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to interact with a variety of people
- Display evidence of strong teamwork, leadership, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Fluency in written and spoken English is a pre-requisite
- Demonstrate integrity and ethics by earning other’s trust and respect through consistent honesty and professionalism in all interactions
