Role Definition

You'll define what Neodesic becomes as a product — for the investigators who use it day to day and the institutions who buy and govern it.

Transaction Monitoring, Screening, and KYC exist today as separate silos, each with its own tools, workflows, and vendors; your job is to shape the single product experience that unifies them, and to translate genuinely novel technical capability into something a compliance function can evaluate, trust, and adopt.

This is a full-time role: you are building the product function from the ground up, working directly with the founder and with real influence over both the roadmap and how the company goes to market.

The underlying model already produces outputs current tools structurally cannot: network-level risk scores, per-case predicate/typology probabilities, and automatically discovered entity roles within a network, all with full traceability back to the transactions that drove the score. The open problem is product, not model capability — turning that into a workflow an investigator will actually use, and a case a compliance function will actually sign off on.

What You'll Own

  • Product strategy — define the roadmap across the unified financial crime lifecycle: monitoring, screening, and KYC as one coherent product experience, not three disconnected tools
  • Investigator/case workflow — own the design of the investigation experience end to end: from alert, to network view, to model-generated explanation, to disposition and reporting.
  • Institutional fit — translate model output and technical capability into a product that satisfies compliance, model-risk, and audit requirements at regulated institutions, without watering down what makes the underlying detection different.
  • Evaluation design — define what a proof-of-concept needs to demonstrate to move a bank from evaluation to a live deployment conversation, and build a repeatable framework for running that evaluation.
  • Roadmap prioritisation — decide what gets built next based on evaluation feedback versus what should wait for a later stage of the company.
  • Buyer-facing packaging — own early-stage documentation, evaluation materials, and product narrative that explain how the product works and what it proves, without exposing proprietary technical internals.
  • Voice of the customer — be the primary interface between engineering and the people who will actually use, buy, and govern the product inside an institution.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Who We're Looking For

Essential

  • Product background in financial crime, compliance, fraud, or another regulated risk domain, ideally gained inside a bank or at a vendor selling into banks.
  • First-hand understanding of how compliance, financial crime, or risk functions actually evaluate and buy technology — procurement cycles, model-risk governance, data-sharing agreements, and what it takes to get something signed off internally.
  • Enough technical fluency to work closely with deep ML material — model behaviour, evaluation metrics, explainability output — and translate it accurately, without needing to build it yourself.
  • Experience designing a workflow or case-management-style tool for an investigator or analyst persona, not just a reporting dashboard.
  • Comfort operating as the entire product function at first — research, specs, evaluation design, and buyer conversations all sit with you until the function grows.
