Role Summary
LemFi is at the stage where product and operations need a single owner who can hold both together — someone who can drive the product roadmap across remittances, credit, savings, and investing while also making sure the operating engine (customer ops, compliance-adjacent workflows, corridor performance, cross-functional execution) scales cleanly with the user base.
This role reports directly to the CEO and sits on the executive team. The mandate is to translate LemFi's growth ambitions into a coherent product strategy and a repeatable operating rhythm — closing the gap between what the company wants to build and how reliably it ships and runs.
Key Outcomes (First 12–18 Months)
- A unified product roadmap across remittances, credit, savings, and investing, with clear prioritization tradeoffs the exec team can rally behind
- A scaled operating model that keeps pace with user growth without a proportional headcount increase — measurable improvements in cost-to-serve and turnaround times
- Successful integration of acquired products (Wealth8, Pillar) into a coherent user experience and operational playbook
- A repeatable process for launching new markets and products that shortens time-to-market
- Strong, healthy working relationships with the tribe leads, turning the tribe-based model into a genuine execution advantage rather than a coordination tax
Core Responsibilities
Product Leadership
- Own the end-to-end product strategy and roadmap across remittance, credit, savings, and investing lines
- Set prioritization frameworks that balance new corridor/product launches against deepening existing markets
- Partner with engineering and design leads to raise the bar on shipping velocity and product quality
- Drive product integration for acquired businesses (Wealth8, Pillar) into a single, coherent LemFi experience
- Use data and user research to identify the highest-leverage product bets, particularly around diaspora-specific needs (cross-border credit, savings, and investing behavior)
Operations Leadership
- Own the operating rhythm of the company — planning cycles, cross-functional execution, and performance reporting to the CEO and board
- Scale customer operations and support functions in line with user growth, without letting cost-to-serve creep up
- Build and maintain the metrics infrastructure needed to see corridor-level and product-level performance clearly
- Strengthen the tribe-based organizational model — clarifying ownership, reducing duplicated effort, and improving cross-tribe coordination
- Work closely with compliance, risk, and finance to ensure operational scaling stays within regulatory and risk tolerances across LemFi's markets

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Business KPIs & Revenue Ownership
This role carries direct accountability for the numbers, not just the roadmap and the org chart. Specifically:
- Revenue growth: own the plan to grow annual revenue beyond its current $160M+ base, with clear visibility into which product lines and corridors are driving it
- Contribution margin: track and improve contribution margin (not just gross margin) at the corridor and product level, and kill or fix underperforming corridors
- Payment volume growth: grow monthly payment volume beyond the current ~$1.5B, and understand which levers (new corridors, existing-corridor penetration, cross-sell into credit/savings/investing) are moving it
- Cost-to-serve: keep cost-to-serve flat or falling as the user base scales past 3 million, especially as customer ops and support scale
- Reporting cadence: deliver a regular, trusted KPI readout to the CEO and board — the numbers should never be a surprise
This is treated as a first-order responsibility of the role, on par with the product and operations mandates above, not a downstream reporting duty.
What We're Looking For
- 10+ years in senior product and/or operations leadership, ideally with time as a CPO, COO, or VP-level product/ops leader at a high-growth fintech or consumer company
- A demonstrated track record of scaling both a product org and an operating model simultaneously — not just one or the other
- Direct experience with financial services in Europe or North America is a strong plus
- Comfort operating in a fast-moving, acquisitive environment — experience integrating acquired products/teams into an existing organization
- Strong quantitative fluency: comfortable setting up and reading unit economics, cost-to-serve, and corridor-level performance metrics
- Experience working directly with a founder-CEO and board, with the communication skills to translate messy tradeoffs into clear recommendations
- A bias toward building repeatable systems and processes rather than relying on heroics
